Multiple stakeholders, including the E3 Lab, have joined together to collect much needed data on air quality in the Collier Heights neighborhood of Northwest Atlanta. This community is heavily impacted by traffic, rail lines, and industry. The aims of the study are threefold: (1) collect baseline air quality measurements at a neighborhood location; (2) examine the impact of multiple sources on concentrations in the neighborhood; and (3) build capacity among community members to collect and interpret air quality data. The aims were guided by the interests of Community Health Aligning Revitalization Resilience & Sustainability (CHARRS) and West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) in partnership with principal investigators 2BTechnologies, TD Enviro, and Montrose Environmental.
